Hector's first visit to Australia was for the 2000 Olympic Games and that's when he fell in love with this country. He gave up his Human Resources job in Dallas, Texas, and the move allowed him to concentrate on his artistic side. He is now qualified as a Contemporary Clay Instructor- Artisan, certified by Metal Clay Australasia with a Level 1 Artisan certification with Precious Metal Clay.

Hector teaches polymer clay workshops in his home-studio in Bellingen, organises the Coffs Coast Polyclayers "Fun Days", and exhibits and creates jewellery, art beads and object de art. He publishes the quarterly e-newsletter titled "Coffs Coast Polyclayers" about all things polymer, such as Artist Interviews, Showcasing Artists Works, Books Reviews, Links to the Best on the Web, and feature stories written by other contributors.
